In the design of a custom GPS tracking/telematic solution for our clients,
we build upon the capabilities of OpenGTS and add various other features from our commercial
GTS Enterprise system.
Here are some of the additional features and modules we can provide:
-
Event notification rules engine:
This provides notification (email, sms, etc) based on defined criteria in a set of rules. For
instance, "send an email if a truck drives outside a geofenced area on the weekend", or
"send an email to maintenance if the vehicle oil pressure light comes on".
-
State-line border crossing detection:
For I.F.T.A. fuel tax
reporting, supports detection of state border crossings (city, county/province,
country, also possible with the proper shapefiles).
-
Secure GeoCorridor support:
(available only on selected devices).
For high-value loads, this provides route monitoring from one location to another. If the
vehicle deviates from the route an alert event is sent, or if the vehicle dwells/stops
too long in the route an alert event is sent.
-
Support for trailer drop/hook detection:
(available only on selected devices).
This provides reporting of which trailers are hooked to a truck, and where they were disconnected/dropped.
-
Support for various GPS tracking/telematic hardware devices:
This also includes non-OpenDMTP compliant devices. See the full list of supported devices below.
(Depending on the complexity of the device, other devices may be integrated at no charge provided
that a sample unit is provided for testing.)
-
Additional commercial mapping provider and reverse-geocoding support:
Including MapTuit, MultiMap, ESRI, and others.
-
Standard multiple users per account:
This includes full access-control-list configuration.
-
Standard support for device groups:
This allows grouping devices by arbitrary categories, such as "East Coast" or "West Coast".
-
Localization support:
Assistance with localizing for a specific language.
-
Support for various SQL database suppliers:
MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server are currently supported.
-
Support for custom requirements:
We can help with the integration of the tracking/telematic data into legacy systems, or help with the
development of other specific telematic requirements.
GTS Enterprise also supports the following list of
GPS tracking/telematic devices:
When combined with one of the selected OpenDMTP compliant devices, the following features
are also available on the client device:
-
Standard stop/stop/in-motion/dormant messaging
-
Standard custom event packet negotiation (for network efficiency).
-
Efficient network bandwidth utilization
-
Digital I/O (on selected devices)
-
"Store and Forward" capability. Events will be stored until communication coverage is available (up to 5000 events).
-
Socket transport supports both TCP/UDP communication.
-
Bluetooth support (including dual transport to GPRS & Bluetooth).
-
'Pingable' via SMS text messaging.
-
Standard 'GeoZone' arrival/departure messaging (with configurable "dwell" times on entrance and exit).
-
Excess speed notification (with setback).
-
Automatically triggering outputs based on inputs.
-
Automatically accruing elapsed time based on input dwell times.
-
Odometer triggered notification.
-
Elapsed time triggered notification.
-
Temperature monitoring (up to 4 probes), with configurable averaging.
-
J1708/J1587 monitoring.
-
Trailer drop/hook detection.
-
Secure load GeoCorridor support (for monitoring routes used to
transport high-value loads).
-
Driver Login/Logout (when used with Bluetooth transport to handheld).
-
Accelerometer (on selected devices)
-
Either J1708-based or GPS-based odometer reporting.
-
Tire pressure monitoring.
-
Adaptable to most any peripheral device with a serial interface (PLC's, etc).
